Graduate Information
- Graduates must arrive by 5:00 p.m. and report to the Fike High School cafeteria. Graduates arriving after 5:00 p.m. may not be allowed to walk in the procession.
- When you arrive, locate your academic program area (designated with signs) and ask your advisor for a name card that will be used to announce your name on stage.
- Only College-approved regalia may be worn during the graduation ceremony.
- Academic honor cords and College-recognized honor society stoles will be distributed to qualifying graduates in the Fike High School cafeteria.
- Graduation is a formal ceremony, and we respectfully request that graduates dress neatly and appropriately for the dignity of the occasion. Please wear shoes that are suitable for walking/standing and do not create a tripping hazard.
- Leave keys, purses, and personal belongings locked in your car or with a family member.
Procession and Ceremony
- The procession lineup will form no later than 5:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
- Marshals will escort the graduates into the auditorium and direct them to their designated seating rows. No one will be allowed to join the procession once graduates have entered the auditorium.
- Marshals will lead graduates to the stage. Graduates will walk up the stairs and hand their name card to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will announce their name as they walk across the stage.
- Exit the stage on the opposite side and return to seat.
- Marshals will lead graduates out of the auditorium at the end of the ceremony.
- Do not stop in the hallway outside the auditorium; follow the marshals outside. In the event of inclement weather, graduates will be led to the gymnasium.
- Degrees and diplomas are not given out during the graduation ceremony. Once degrees and diplomas are available, they will be mailed to the address provided on the graduation application.
Guest Information
- Guests must have a ticket and enter by 5:45 p.m. to be seated in the auditorium.
- Guests without a ticket and guests entering after 5:45 p.m. will be seated in the gymnasium, where the ceremony will be broadcast live.
- Graduates and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting the dignity of the event and should refrain from disruptions such as shouting, inappropriate applause, and excessive movement.
- Guests are not allowed to cross or stand in front of the stage during the ceremony.
- Balloons, signs, and car seats are not allowed in the Fike High School auditorium.
- Flowers and gifts cannot be presented to graduates until after the ceremony.
