Wilson Academy of Applied Technology

LTC WAAT buildingWilson Academy of Applied Technology (WAAT), an innovative high school, is a collaborative effort between Wilson County Schools, Wilson Community College, and local industry. The school focuses on bridging the gap between industry and education creating a pipeline of workforce ready citizens and innovative thinkers. Through a student-directed learning environment and authentic industry experiences, WAAT strives to foster stakeholder relationships within our community. Curriculum includes contextualized learning including field trips, guest speakers, technical labs, job shadowing and internships. Students develop foundational skills while in high school classes and occupational skills through advanced college courses to meet employer needs.
