Attention rising 8th graders – graduating high school seniors: are you looking to explore options for your future career? Career Exploration classes will give you an in-depth overview of what it’s like to work in Allied Health, Applied Technology, Biotechnology, Fiber Optics, or Public Safety.
Biotechnology
June 24-27 • 8:30 AM – 3 PM • Fees: $125
Students will learn about bioprocessing techniques, complete hands-on activity labs and experience what it is like to gown for pharmaceutical cleanroom settings. Students will explore career opportunities in the Biotechnology field and get a real world experience of what it would be like to work in a pharmaceutical career.
Allied Health
June 25-27 • 1-4 PM • Fees: $65
The Allied Health Summer Camp is a three day experience to introduce prospective students to the exciting world of healthcare. Through interactive, hands on activities, simulations, and experiments students will engage with teams to learn more about healthcare and foster critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will engage in team building activities and challenges as they embark on their journey to learn about the world of allied health professionals. The Allied Health Summer Camp offers the unique opportunity for students to explore various roles in healthcare careers, gain practical skills, and learn more about making a difference in the lives of others. Please wear comfortable attire and closed toe shoes. Limit: 10 students
Applied Engineering
July 15-18 • 8:30 AM – 3 PM • Fees: $145
Students will complete a stem electric car project and work with Bionic kits. These activities will help students to learn about the continuous improvement process and how to apply problem solving and critical thinking skills to everyday life. Students will work with electronic trainers to learn how to read schematics.

July 16-18 • 9 AM – Noon • Fees: $65
Students will be exposed to Fiber Optic technology and learn how Fiber is used by telecommunication service providers, internet service providers and contractors. Students will tour the Greenlight center and learn about different Fiber Optic Careers.
Public Safety
July 22-25 • 8:30 AM – 3 PM • Fees: $125 (Includes CPR Card & Book)
Students will learn about careers in Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement. Students will earn a First Aid CPR Credential and learn to operate a fire extinguisher. This class will include a field trip to tour the county 911 and Emergency Management sites. This class will expose students to careers associated with each of these areas.
