Law Enforcement Training

The North Carolina Coastal Plain Police Academy, Inc. was established in 1967 by thirty-one law enforcement agencies in the eastern part of the state. The purpose of the training center was to provide education and training to law enforcement personnel in the area. Although the corporation still exists, over the years Wilson Community College has gradually assumed responsibility for continuing the goal of training officers throughout the region. The Coastal Plain Law Enforcement Training Center, as it is known today, is one of the oldest and most active law enforcement training providers in North Carolina.

Wilson Community College, through the Coastal Plain Law Enforcement Training Center, continues its commitment of providing quality law enforcement training to meet the needs of the law enforcement officers in the eastern region of our state. The training center is comprised of two different but combined training units to meet the growing training needs of our law enforcement community. Wilson Community College is host to a Basic Law Enforcement Training program and an In-Service Law Enforcement Training Center.
