Interested in starting a business or growing an existing business?

The Wilson Community College Small Business Center (SBC) is part of the North Carolina Community College System Small Business Center Network. As a community-based provider of education, training, counseling, referral, and information, the SBC endeavors to increase the number and success rate of viable small businesses in Wilson County by providing high-quality, readily accessible assistance to prospective and existing small business owners which will lead to job creation and retention.

WHAT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY THE SMALL BUSINESS CENTER?

Business Counseling – receive no-cost, confidential, one-on-one counseling for one or more of the following topics.

Start-up Basics
Business Registration
Business Plans
Market/Industry Research
Business Funding
Bookkeeping
Licenses and Permits
Government Contracting

Business Events/Workshops – participate in free seminars, webinars, and workshops for a variety of business-related topics.

SBC Academy Certificates – the SBC offers both Entrepreneur Academy and Nonprofit Academy certificates.

SBC Library Resources – check out books and view other reference materials.

SBC Client Resource Room – work confidentially on business planning with free Wi-Fi and access to sample business plans, reference materials, and a dual-monitor computer.

Who can use SBC Services?

Existing or potential business owners operating in Wilson County are welcome to use the services of the SBC. Minors may require special permission, and they will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
