Each semester, WCC offers a limited amount of funding to help offset up-front textbook costs for students. This funding is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis only. The maximum textbook loan amount per student is $250.00.
Who is eligible?
Any curriculum student who is not currently eligible for federal financial aid assistance can apply for the textbook loan.
How does it work?
Textbook loan funding becomes available on the first day to charge textbooks to financial aid in the bookstore. This date will be published on the WCC website each semester.
Starting on this date, the student may visit the bookstore and obtain a quote for their textbooks.
They should then bring their quote to the Financial Aid office in Building F. The loan paperwork will be completed based on the quote, for a maximum of $250.00. The amount will be credited to the student’s account and can be used to purchase textbooks at the WCC bookstore only.
The loan amount will be due 30 days after it is awarded. The student should see the Cashier, located in F101, to pay any outstanding balances.
All textbook loan requests must be completed in person at the Student Development office, F100.
Will I have to pay interest on the textbook loan?
There is no interest charged on the textbook loan, but there is a $5.00 processing fee which will be clearly noted on the loan paperwork.
